Staying at the Tangfu Sanlitun was quite the mixed bag. The location is super central, making it easy to hit up the main attractions like Tian'Anmen Square and the Forbidden City. But the breakfast options left a lot to be desired, and I had some hiccups with the room that put a damper on things.

I stayed in a Deluxe Twin Room and while it was spacious and had a nice decor, there were definitely some quirks. The shower head leaked, the fridge didn’t work, and despite getting an upgrade, the view wasn't what I hoped for. Got some lighting issues too, with only some of the lights working. Overall, it felt a bit dated and cramped in spots.
Service
6.5
The staff were friendly and tried to help out, especially when I reported the shower issue. But there were some awkward moments, like when my Amex didn’t work during checkout. It made the payment process a bit uncomfortable. They also made a big deal of the slight ‘upgrade’ but it didn’t feel like a win to me.
Location

The hotel’s location is really great, just a short walk from the metro and close to Sanlitun for shopping and eating. I could get to the main sights pretty quickly on public transport. It’s right in the thick of things which is a major plus, especially if it’s your first time in Beijing.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was one of the lower points for me. The options were pretty limited and often cold – not what I expect from a hotel. The noodle station was a nice touch, but I wasn't impressed with the overall vibe and cleanliness in the dining area. Not my favorite meal of the day here!
Facilities
6.0
The hotel offers some neat facilities like a laundry area and gym, though I had trouble with the dryer which didn’t get my clothes dry at all. The use of a robot for certain services is fun, but the overall experience felt a bit scattered and unkept, especially the lobby area. They definitely could use a bit more organization in the day-to-day.

I had a pleasant stay at the Beijing Tangfu Sanlitun Boutique Hotel. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that my needs were met, although language communication could be a bit challenging. The location was convenient, but it required some travel to reach major tourist attractions. Overall, it was a comfortable stay with some areas for improvement, especially regarding the breakfast options. 😊

My Deluxe Queen Room was wonderfully clean, with super comfortable beds and pillows. The room had a modern and trendy feel, but I found the space a bit tight for opening my suitcase. Thankfully, I was able to switch to a larger room, which was much better. The amenities were impressive, and the blinds worked perfectly to keep the light out while I slept.
Service
8.0
The service was generally good, with staff being eager to help. They even used translation devices to assist with communication, which was helpful. However, I found that not all staff spoke English fluently, leading to some challenges, especially during breakfast. Overall, I felt well taken care of.

The hotel's location in Sanlitun was decent, being close to shopping areas and a 24-hour McDonald's. However, major tourist attractions like Tian'Anmen Square and the Forbidden City were not within walking distance, requiring a cab or subway ride to get there. I appreciated the accessibility to the nearby subway line.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was a letdown, with limited options and lack of variety. I noticed that the quality of the food could be better, as it included only one type of bread and no Western options. I hope they consider improving this aspect to enhance the guest experience.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel offered a solid range of facilities, including gym access and laundry services. I appreciated having luggage storage before check-in. It would have been nice to have a charged laundry service available, though. Overall, the facilities catered well to my needs during the stay, but some enhancements could be made.

The room was spacious and had an appealing art deco/asian fusion style. The smart toilet and electric curtains were fun features, and the bed was quite comfortable. However, I struggled with the confusing lighting system and a persistent sewer smell in the shower.

The staff were courteous and eager to help, but communication was often challenging due to the language barrier. They provided a translation device at reception, yet assisting with breakfast queries took some effort.

The breakfast left a lot to be desired. The options were limited, cold, and not particularly appealing, which was disappointing considering my usual enthusiasm for hotel breakfasts.

Though the amenities like the free washing machine and snacks in the lobby were nice touches, there were a few hiccups. The dryer did not function well, leaving me with wet clothes to pack, and the general cleanliness could be improved.
